Athens-based alternative rock band with post-punk foundations.
ABOUT
Jester Syndrome is an alternative rock and post-punk band based in Athens, Greece. Formed in 2020, the band released their self-titled debut in 2021, followed by the full-length album Shape in 2024. Later the same year, they released the 4-track EP Dancing Shadows.
The current lineup consists of Dimitris Nikolopoulos (vocals/guitar), Eva Pantazi (drums/vocals), Dimitris Paganiaris (guitar), and Vasilis Lagos (bass).
Jester Syndrome’s sound combines guitar-driven structures, rhythmic intensity, and melodic elements. While earlier material explored darker atmospheres, the band is currently developing new work that moves toward a broader alternative rock direction.
A new release is in progress and expected in 2027.
BIO
Jester Syndrome was formed in Athens, Greece, in 2020. The band’s first release, their self-titled debut (2021), introduced a sound rooted in alternative rock and post-punk. Their music developed further with the release of Shape (2024), their first full-length album, which presented a more structured and mature approach to songwriting.
Later in 2024, the band released the EP Dancing Shadows, a four-track project that explored atmosphere and mood while maintaining a guitar-focused foundation.
In 2026, guitarist Dimitris Paganiaris joined the band. Together with Dimitris Nikolopoulos (vocals/guitar) and Eva Pantazi (drums/vocals), and with Vasilis Lagos on bass for live and studio performances, the current lineup reflects the band’s ongoing evolution.
Jester Syndrome’s music is built around layered guitars, steady rhythms, and direct melodic lines. While their earlier material leaned toward darker tonalities, their forthcoming work expands stylistically, incorporating broader alternative influences and experimental elements without departing from their core identity.
The band is currently preparing a new release scheduled for 2027.
